Because of his knowledge John is asked to participate in specific projects from time to time.
One such project was showing Canadian Wildlife biologists prairie falcon nest sites and helping them trap adult females to put satellite transmitters on them. These were used to track the birds’ movements for over a year to see where they went. This was an offshoot of an Idaho project which found that their birds, after having raised young came over the mountains to the Canadian prairie. As we have our own birds they wondered what our birds did.
